Pochury delegates attend Naga festival in Myanmar

A total of 106 delegates including two dancing troupes (one male and one female) under the aegis of Phokhungri Area Cultural Society and 30 leaders from Pochury tribe of Nagaland attended Naga traditional festival and New Year celebration at Layshee town of Myanmar from January 12 to 15.
Vice president of Myanmar NyanTun; MP Chiti, chairmen of Naga Self-Administered Zone Aung Wi and Rutsangchu, Chief Minister of Sagaing Division Thar Aye, Indian Ambassador to Myanmar Gautam Mukhopadhaya, Consul General of India Dr. N Nandakumar and many other dignitaries attended the festival.
The Pochury tribal leaders had a meeting with Makuri and Para Naga tribal leaders of Myanmar for better cooperation and support in road construction linking the two sides of the neighbouring countries on top priority. The members have decided to build a common social relationship and cooperation in trade and commerce.
The leaders also discussed that the people of these groups of Nagas in Myanmar and Nagaland of India could visit as family members without any legal restrictions for better understanding and cooperation for common good. This was stated in a press release issued by president of Pochury Hoho Penthu Pochury.
