Special Judge POCSO Act, Zunheboto, Ajongba Imchen, has convicted and sentenced one accused Vikato Labo (42), arm branch constable, to 20 years rigorous imprisonment under section 376 IPC R/W Sections 4 & 6 POCSO Act for rape of minor girl and another accused Mughavi Wotsami (40) to undergo 10 years rigorous imprisonment under section 376/511 IPC R/W section 4 & 18 POCSO Act for attempt to rape minor girl.
The court has ordered that maximum compensation is awarded to the victim under the victim compensation scheme.
Special judge also recommended the DC Zunheboto that no male doctor shall examine the victim of sexual assault/abuse in the district. The judgment was pronounced on October 21, 2022.
