DIMAPUR, JUL 24 (NPN): Dimapur Police have sought wide publicity of a notice issued by the Special Judge, Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Dimapur, against an absconding accused in connection with a POCSO case.
According to a press note issued by deputy commissioner of police (Crime) and PRO, Dimapur Police, the notice under Section 84 of BNSS, dated July 6, 2026, pertains to Peter Chumbemo Kikon alias Robert Kikon.
The case relates to Dimapur West Police Station Case No. 0070/2026 registered under Section 238 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) read with Sections 4, 6, 8, 10 and 12 of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to the court notice issued by Special Judge, Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Dimapur Mrs. Khesheli Chishi, a warrant of arrest had earlier been issued against the accused. However, the warrant could not be executed as he could not be found. The court recorded its satisfaction that the accused had absconded or was concealing himself to avoid execution of the warrant.
The notice directed Robert Kikon a resident of Mekokla village, Wokha district, and present address– Little Attic Building, Kacharigaon, Dimapur, to appear before the Fast Track Special Court (POCSO), Dimapur, at 10:30 a.m. on August 10, 2026, to answer the complaint.
