The people of Podinakub has resolved to constitute an organization to undertake all round social economic development for the welfare, benefit and uplift of the downstream affected people of (DHEP) and to raise voices during the hardship, accident, disadvantages and in time of injustices face by the people and to seek all necessary and practicable help for the downstream affected people from Doyang Hydro Electric Project DHEP.
DHEP Podinakub has elected a team of office bearers for the tenure of five years 2014-19
In this regard, the organization has urged the Doyang Hydro Electric Project (NEPCCO) to consul the organization for all developmental activities for better understanding between the Ekhung and the DHEP authorities.
It stated that arbitrary decisions of the DHEP authorities in all matters affecting the downstream people would not be accepted by the Ekhung as it was fully authorized and endorsed by all the village councils through a resolution of the Podinakup of ten villages.
To this effect, the Podinakup Ekhung had already submitted formal representation duly endorsed by the SDO (C) Sanis and DC Wokha to the HOP,DHEP for necessary action which was subsequently acknowledgef by the DHEP authorities last year. This was stated in a press release issued by N Mhabemo Mozhui, Chairman DAPO DHEP Podinakup.
