Poilwa Youth Organisation (PYO)’s 28th general conference was held January 8 at Poilwa village council hall with PBC Medziphema deputy director Dr.Hiabe Zeliang as chief guest.
At the conference, a new team of office bearers were elected to be led by Iraipoing and Suingaung as president and general secretary for the tenure 2015-2017.
On January 9, 28th sports meet of PYO was inaugurated by SDO (electrical) Dimapur Er.Namheu Khate. Mbungcha Khel emerged champion in the football tournament while NG Khel A and NG Khel B won second and third positions respectively.
Meanwhile, Poilwa Morung Heritage Development Authority (PMHDA) has lauded PYO for “heroic deed” of its member in retrieving the bodies of three teenagers of Khonoma on December 26 at Duhia Zai (Waterfall lake) in Doidirekie of Poilwa.
PMHDA acknowledged the bravery action of Kiehangsing of Benreu village, Mhasimhalie Matthew of Kohima village, Ruokuovikho of Kigwema village and Kochuituing for retrieving the bodies.
Further, PMHDA conveyed condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
