Police informs on ILP checking

DIMAPUR, JUN 2 (NPN)

Nagaland Police has informed that police personnel will be con-ducting periodic checks for Inner Line Permit (ILP) compliance across the State.
In an official communiqué, the police clarified that while personnel are authorized to conduct ILP checks, they are not empowered to impose fines for non-possession of ILP or valid identification documents.
The statement further emphasized that only Magistrates are authorized to levy fines for ILP violations.
Police has urged the public to report any instances of police personnel imposing fines to senior officers.
