Police recruitment: SKK appeals for re-examining post allocation

DIMAPUR, OCT 13 (NPN)

The All Sumi Students’ Union (SKK) has expressed concern over the recent police constable recruitment advertisement, citing “deliberate exclusion and marginalization” of Sümi community villages in Mokokchung and Wokha districts.
SKK president Gihuka K Zhimo and general secretary Toshika K Kiba lauded the state government and police department for creating employment opportunities. However, they pointed out that district-wise allocations left out Sümi villages in the two districts.
The union urged the department to review the district-tribe ratio allocation and consider Sümi youth eligible to apply under the two districts.
It also supported and endorsed the concerns raised by Chakroma Public Organisation and Western Sümi Hoho for separate allocations in both districts to ensure tribal representation.
Emphasizing the need for fairness and equitable distribution of opportunities, SKK appealed to the state government to address the issue as a priority.
