Police sensitised on mental health

An awareness programme on “mental health” as part of the mental health awareness month was organised by Lapiye Centre for Mental Well-being in collaboration with Chumoukedima Police, Commissioner of Police (CP) Dimapur on May 31 at Sovima Police Station.
A press release by the centre informed that the programme was held under the theme, “Anxiety” with DCP Chumoukedima, KM Munish as special guest.
At the programme, resource person, director of Shalom Rehabilitation Centre, Rev. Dr. Fr. Joe Mariadhas briefed the gathering on different forms of anxiety. He laid emphasises on breaking down the barriers and cultivating positive mindset.
An overview of mental health in medical practice was shared by psychiatrist of State Mental Health Institute, Kohima, Dr. Aienyla Longchar, and highlighted the gathering on the difference between mental health and mental illness.
