Poll-related violence in Mkg; two injured

In a case of suspected election-related violence, two persons were injured when unidentified miscreants vandalised a house here on late Monday evening.
According to Mokokchung Police, the incident happened at Salangtem ward between 10.30 pm and 11 p.m.
The house was stated to be a camp of JD(U) candidate who arrived from Kohima on Monday evening to file his nominations on Tuesday.
However, the candidate was reportedly not present at the house at the time of the incident.
As per the statements of the victims, police said more than 20 miscreants with faces covered, vandalized the house and properties, injuring two of the occupants. The injured were rushed to hospital for treatment.
Police said that a case has been registered and further investigation on to identity the miscreants.
