Pongchoi Konyak wins 4th Spelling Bee 2025

Pongchoi Konyak, a class 8 student of Eklavya Model Residential School, emerged as the champion of the 4th Spelling Bee competition, organized by Dorians Society on Saturday.
Pongchoi Konyak was adjudged as the winner of the event, after correctly spelling the word, “Impecunious”, walking away with a cash prize of Rs. 10,000 and citation, while the second was bagged by Wachum Thonger, a class 8 student of Christina Memorial Hr. Sec. School, and Riya Shamr, a class 7 student of Neingulie Memorial High School, bagged the third position, waking away with a cash prize of Rs. 5000 and Rs. 3000, respectively, along with citations. The judges for the competition were educator and author, Inakali Assumi, and former assistant professor and entrepreneur, Imolangla Pongen, while the pronouncers for the event were Patricia Cecilia Maule and Parinita Debnath, both teachers. Altogether, 25 students from 18 schools participated in the event.
