Amidst RPP’s demand for abolishing the post of principal director in School Education department, chief secretary J Alam said the demand was misplaced and reminded that a lot of good things happened in the education department.
Responding to a query on the sideline of an event here, he said just the decline in the recently-announced HSLC 2022 results could not be the reason for abolishment of any post and nor would the State government take such a decision.
Alam said the government was analysing the performance of government schools and assured to take corrective action, adding that there were many reasons behind the poor results. He said the matter (result) would be reviewed at the government-level.
