Poshan Maah 2021 under Poshan Abhiyan, a central government scheme was launched at Chiephobozou, Dimapur and Mangkolemba under Mokokchung district on September 1 to ensure community mobilisation and bolster people’s participation to improve nutritional outcomes for pregnant women, lactating mother, children and adolescent girls. Poshan Maah 2021 has been subdivided into weekly themes with a focused approach to improve holistic nutrition.
Chiephobozou: The annual celebration of Poshan Maah 2021 for Chiephobozou block was flagged off by ADC Chiephobozou, Vekhoyi Chakhesang.
A press release from the CDPO office informed that during the programme, CDPO Dzüziengulie Terhüja addressed the anganwadi workers on activities that need to be conducted during the celebration.
Dzüziengulie informed that the activities would be based on: plantation activities as Poshan Vatika, Yoga and Ayush for nutrition, identification of SAM/MAM, Anemia screening, Poshan Panchayat.
Mangkolemba: Block convergence action plan committee (BCAPC) comprising of various line departments under Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan held its meeting and launched Poshan Maah 2021, poshan rally at Mangkolemba ADC office complex.
In a press release, Mangkolemba Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) informed that EAC HQ Kedalu Sebu, SMO CHC, CDPO and ICDS functionaries, panchayat members, youth leaders, AWWs, AWHs participated in the programme.
Dimapur: Poshan Maah was launched in Dimapur with the theme of the first week, plantation activity in the form of “poshan vatika”.
In a press release, district project assistant, Arentula informed that a plantation drive was organised by the department of social welfare where president and founder of kindness society Lendi Aier was the guest for the programme.
Students of Hope Academy and SHGs of Assissi centre for Integrated Development (ACID) also participanted in the programme.
