Poshan maah 2024 launched in Nagaland

Poshan maah 2024 celebration in Nagaland kick started with the department of Social Welfare participating in the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign on August 31.

Plant4Mother was earlier launched by the Prime Minister Navrendra Modi on World Environment Day, June 5, 2024. According to a DIPR report, Secretary, Social Welfare, Martha Ritse, led the Plant4Mother plantation drive. Other participants included Olemjungla Aier, Project Director Poshan Abiyaan and Joint Secretary Social Welfare, Bodeno S. Colo, Addl. Secretary, Tosheli Zhimomi, Director social welfare, along with directorate officers, staff, SPMU Poshan Abhiyaan team, district Social Welfare and Anganwadi Workers.


District Social Welfare and Block officers, and Anganwadi workers participated in the Plant4mother campaign at the district, block and Anganwadi Centers across the State.


Under Mission Saksham Anganwadi and Poshan 2.0, behavioural change, at individual and community level is an important component to achieve the desired goal of Suposhit Bharat. In pursuance of this objective, Rashtriya Poshan Maah is celebrated during the month of September every year.


Rashtriya Poshan Abhiyaan, department of Social Welfare, Nagaland, in convergence with the departments of Health and Family Welfare, Rural Development – NSRLM, school education, Ayush, horticulture, forest and climate change, agriculture and local administration will celebrate Poshan maah 2024 during September with the 5 Themes: ‘Anaemia’, ‘Growth Monitoring’, ‘Complementary Feeding’, ‘Poshan Bhi Padhai Bhi’ and ‘Use of Technology for better Governance’.


Since the launch of Poshan Abhiyaan in 2018 by the Prime Minister, 6 Poshan Maahs have been successfully celebrated across the country in convergence with multiple Ministries/Departments across the States/UTs.
