With the objective to facilitate the small and medium business exporters particularly focusing on the local business community, the department of post, Government of India have introduced a new facility- Dak Ghar Niryat Kendra (DNK), an initiative for promotion of exports to foreign countries.
Addressing media persons here at MDG post office, on Friday, Postmaster General, NE-II Region Dimapur Som Kamei, informed they were committed to provide a value added services to the clients who were interested to export any kind of products through designated DNK/Post office.
He said under the initiative everything could be done through online and the products can be sold directly to customers.
Kamei, mentioned that any person interested to export products abroad must have a valid GSTIN and Import – Export code (IEC), which can be applied from the website of the Director General of Foreign Trade for a onetime fee payment of Rs. 500. After completing the process, they can log into the DNK website https://dnk.cept.gov.in/customers.web/ and register themselves.
Documents such as IEC, GSTIN and Aadhaar will be required for uploading on the website.
He further stated that bookings would be permitted only after completion of KYC documents verification.
He also informed that the service were currently functioning through Kohima head post office, Dimapur MDG, Phek SO, Mokokchung MDG and Jalukie SO and further, DNK centres would be open in the rest of the districts headquarters based on the demands.
