Poster competition on heatwave safety

DIMAPUR: A poster making competition on heatwave safety was conducted at Government Higher Secondary School, Pungro, Kiphire, on July 6, 2026 to spread awareness about the adverse effects of heatwaves on health.
According to DIPR, participants were divided into groups and provided with chart papers and art supplies to visually depict safety protocols. Teachers guided and encouraged the students throughout the exercise. Entries were judged on how effectively the groups illustrated core themes of heatwave safety, including hydration, sun protection, avoiding exposure during peak hours (11 a.m.-4 p.m.), and recognising symptoms of heat stroke. The winners of the competition will be announced after the summer break.
