ATMA Peren, Ahthibung block inaugurated “Poultry Farm School”, at Saijang village, Ahthibung, Peren on December 18, with Kaikholun Sitlhou as Farm Teacher, in presence of special guest, Farm Manager Veterinary College, Peren, Helungsuipoing. A press release by ATMA Ahthibung block informed that Helungsuipoing in his speech expressed appreciation towards the progressive farmer and ATMA staff and encouraged farmers present to continue with the same sincerity and dedication.
The event was chaired by BTM, Lhaihoichong Singson, who also delivered the welcome speech. The inaugural programme proceeded with invocation by Council chairman, Saijang village, while a brief speech on the concept of farm school was presented by ATM, Lireni Lotha. The newly appointed Farm Teacher also narrated his success story as a poultry farmer and expressed gratitude towards the recognition.
Later, a visit to the poultry farm by ATMA staff was conducted where special guest held a brief interaction with the farmers.
On the same day, all women Food Security Group (FSG) “Valpa” composing of five members based in Saijang was mobilized.
The group’s main focus as Ginger and few seasonal crops whereby brief concept of the nature of FSG was also discussed by ATM Lireni Lotha. Seed Money/revolving fund was provided to two existing Self-Help Groups (SHG) Jonlhing SHG, Old Chalkot Village & Saheipah SHG, Phanjang village.
