All Nagaland Electricity Field Workers’ Association (ANEFWA) on Thursday announced its decision to stage phase-wise agitation with effect from April 14, 2025.
In a letter addressed to the engineer-in-chief, power department, ANEFWA president Vethinu Kezo, general secretary Vimesa Kera, vice president-1 Bokaho Sema, vice president-2 Wenlao Konyak, assistant general secretary Limatoshi Pongen, finance secretary Yapielie Chakrunuo, action committee chairman Ghonito Chishi and treasurer K Dominic reminded of the ultimatum submitted on February 10, 2025 and its subsequent developments.
ANEFWA expressed regret that despite assurance being made during the joint meeting on March 5, 2025, nothing has materialized, which it maintained displayed “the passivity of the authorities concerned.”
The association said that its demands were genuine and without which it has become “unbearably hard” for members of the association to serve the government/citizen.
On February 19, 2025, ANEFWA had served an ultimatum on the department of power to address its ten-point demand within 30 days.
However, following the assurance by engineer-in-chief power department at a meeting held on March 5, 2025, to take up the demands with the higher authority for consideration, the association had decided to suspend the proposed agitation for a period of 30 days effective from March 6, 2025.
