Power deptt declares Oct as ‘vegetation clearance month’

In order to avoid unwarranted/unscheduled disruption of power supply due to vegetation/trees coming in contact with the power lines, the department of power Nagaland (DoPN) has declared October month of each calendar year as the “vegetation clearance month.”

In an office order, department of power engineer-in-chief Nribemo Mozhui informed that all the divisions to make all necessary arrangements for clearing of vegetation/jungle/trees along the corridor of each and every HT&LT lines within their respective jurisdiction in close coordination with the public organisations, concerned village councils and colony representatives during the month of October.

All electrical and transmission divisions have also been asked to make prior planning for shut downs in close coordination with SLDC Dimapur and undertake vegetation/jungle clearance during the said month. Further, the department informed transmission divisions to make advance planning for OCC clearance for inter-state transmission line.
