DIMAPUR: The department of power had conducted a meeting cum seminar on July 3 as part of the capacity building at chief engineer (Power) office to discuss issues pertaining to the overall activities of the department. According to an official bulletin, all the field officers from the divisions attended the programme that was graced by the chief engineer (power) in-charge Er. K. Miachie-o.
The deliberations included: Proper maintenance of Distribution Transformers, including power sub-station, which been a very important aspect of the Department was deliberated at length by Er. K. Miachie-o, Addl.CE (T&G), Capacity building on communitisation to re-strengthen the Communitised villages
and urban areas was presented by Er.T.S.Angami, Addl.CE (D&R). The Communitisation being the flagship programme of the Department, the need for training the Departmental Officials was stressed upon so that the Officials can in turn impart training to the VEMB/UEMB members at the field level. Brief presentation on capacity building of the VEMBs/UEMBs was also discussed. In this regard, the Addl. CE (D&R), requested all the officers in the field to put sincere effort in order to complete the work at the earliest in the interest of public service and also requested the officers to furnish monthly data to this office in order to strengthen the monitoring & coordination effort of communitisation in the Department.
Necessary printed materials were distributed to all the Divisions for further distributions to VEMB/UEMB, The new rules of general condition of supply was also highlighted by Er.Tiameren Walling, Asst.CE and discussed.
Officials were requested to be thorough with the rules for which adequate copies of the rule book were also distributed to all the field Officers, Revenue-related matters of the department was discussed in detail by all the participating officers and tentative revenue targets for each Division was also announced. Divisions were requested to make all out efforts to collect revenue so as to achieve the target.
