Power outage in Phek, Kiphire distts

Due to snapping of the 132kV Kohima-Kiphire transmission line near Mesulumi village on January 22, power supply to Phek and Kiphire districts has been disrupted. In a press release, Executive Engineer Transmission Division Kohima said that the transmission lines were snapped due to cutting of trees by some persons.
EE assured that the department was making all efforts to restore power supply at the earliest.
As a caution, the department said that such actions could lead to loss of precious lives by electrocution. In this regard, it appealed to all to inform the department before cutting down trees near the transmission lines.
