Power supply disrupted in Medziphema

The Department of Power, Medziphema Electrical Sub-Division, has informed the general public that the 33 kV (AP1 feeder) power line passing through the Tsiedukhru range has been severely damaged due to soil erosion caused by recent ground instability in the area.
According to a press release issued by the sub-divisional officer, Medziphema Er. Vikhozolie Nisa, stated that the damage has resulted in a disruption of power supply across Medziphema town and all villages under the sub-division.
The release stated that the extent of the damage requires thorough technical intervention and careful restoration work to ensure both safety and the long-term stability of the power infrastructure.
It further informed that field staff have been mobilized and are currently working on a war footing to restore electricity at the earliest possible time.
Meanwhile, the department has expressed sincere regret over the inconvenience caused to affected consumers and has requested the public to bear with the situation during the restoration period.
