Power supply to3 districts disrupted

Power department has informed that power supply to Tuensang, Noklak and Shamator districts has been disrupted due to some technical fault developed in the 66/33kV, 10 MVA power transformer on August 30, 2024 at 66/33kV Tuensang Sub-station under transmission division Mokokchung.


In a press release, transmission division Mokokchung executive engineer Hekaito Assumi said the department was making all possible arrangements to rectify the problem.
The department said emergency arrangement has been put in place to supply power to the affected areas from the existing 5MVA transformer.

However, the department informed there would be imposition of frequent load restrictions till the 10 MVA power transformer was fully restored and charged. The department has urged the consumers to bear with the inconvenience as it was making best efforts to resolve the issue at the earliest.
