PPC, PSC raise alarm over delayed Longleng DH project

DIMAPUR

Phom Peoples’ Council (PPC) and Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) have voiced serious concern over the slow progress and lack of manpower at the District Hospital (DH) construction site in Longleng.
In a press statement, PSC reported that a recent inspection revealed the project is far behind its scheduled completion target of March 2026, with minimal workforce deployment.
The two apex bodies termed the delay unacceptable, citing serious lapses in planning and execution.
Both PPC and PSC have urged all concerned departments and executing agencies to take urgent action, including:deploying sufficient manpower and technical expertise; accelerating construction without compromising quality; ensuring strict accountability and transparency in execution and providing regular public updates on project status.
Further, they warned that if visible improvements are not seen in the coming weeks, the matter would be escalated to higher authorities, alongside intensified public monitoring and accountability mechanisms.
