PRA exercise on ‘Jal Jeveen Mission’ in Tuensang

A Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) Exercise on Jal Jeveen Mission (JJM) by Implementation Support Agency (ISA) Alongphi Welfare Society under Public Health Engineering Department (PHED) Tuensang division commenced on August 4 at Sangphur village, Shamator block and Chessore block under Tuensang district.

A press release by PHED Tuensang division informed that at the programme, DWSM chemist and district coordinator PHED Tuensang division, N.Sangtam spoke about the JJM objectives. He said the programme was based on community approach toward water launched by ministry of Jal Shakti. 

Sangtam said the mission aims to provide functional household’s tap connection to every household with service level at the rate of 55 (lpcd) litres per capita per day by 2024.

In the JJM scheme, he every school and anganwadi centres need to cover pipeline connection supply with quality water. 

 Junior engineer, Shamator block and Chessore block, Er.Lanu talked about the importance of community participation in order to achieve JJM success in the village.

PRA exercise was conducted by secretary ISA Alongphi Welfare Society, C.Meren. Altogether 27 participants including council members, WATSAN committee, ASHA workers attended the exercise.
