A prayer and encouragement programme for aspirants of various competitive examinations was held on October 18 at Ungma Kiti, Kohima. The programme was organized under the aegis of the Ungma Senso Telongjem Kohima (Ungma Union Kohima) on the theme “Engaging tomorrow’s leadership (Asüng Lenir Den Sensaksem).”
A press release by the general secretary of Ungma Senso Telongjem, Kohima, Dr. Talinungsang stated that the event brought together around 80 aspirants, along with a panel of eight members who had successfully cleared different competitive examinations.
The panellists shared their inspiring journeys and personal experiences, offering valuable insights, guidance, and motivation to the aspirants. The prayer sessions were led by. P. Amenla Longkumer, home missionary, Ungma Senso Fellowship Kohima; C. Rongsen Pongener, deacon, KABA; and Alichuba Jamir, secretary, Ungma Senso Fellowship Kohima.
The exhortation and vision-setting address was delivered by Sharingain Longkumer, Speaker, Nagaland Legislative Assembly, who also sponsored the event.
In his address, Longkumer encouraged the community to strive towards producing a targeted number of Class-I officers within the next 15 years, underscoring the importance of commitment, perseverance, and focus among the youth.
He further emphasized the need for collective responsibility in advancing the community’s progressive development.
Imkongnungsang, president, Ungma Senso Telongjem Kohima, urged aspirants to remain steadfast, disciplined, and practical in their preparation journey, highlighting the importance of consistent effort and faith.
Mejungsungkum Longkumer, member of the Subcommittee for Aspirants’ Motivation and president of the Soyim Students’ Union Kohima Unit, pronounced the foundation of the Aspirants’ Motivation initiative, marking a significant milestone for the community.
Expressing gratitude, Imkongsowa, vice president, Ungma Senso Telongjem Kohima, thanked all stakeholders and resource persons for their contributions in making the event a meaningful and pioneering initiative for the community.
The programme was moderated by Lipoksungkum Imsong, member of the Subcommittee for Aspirants’ Motivation, who ensured a smooth and engaging flow of the proceedings.
The event concluded with a fellowship lunch, prepared and served by members of the Ungma Senso Fellowship Kohima, fostering a spirit of unity, encouragement, and hope among all present.
