Pre monsoon-cum-preparedness meet

A pre monsoon-cum-preparedness meeting was held at DC’s conference hall, Dimapur on April 29.  According to DIPR report, in the meeting it was decided that mass social work as part of the pre-monsoon preparedness will also be held in Dimapur on May 4 along with the rest of the state. All government and civil bodies will participate in the scheduled social work, with particular emphasis to clear all drains/nullahs, culverts and natural waterways to prevent clogging and flooding during the monsoon period. It was decided that encroachments on public properties causing potential blockade to drains and waterways would be inspected and stringent action will be taken against the defaulters. Line departments were directed to review and monitor the status of public infrastructure before monsoon. It was also discussed that alternative routes would be identified and informed in case of any road blockades caused during these period. Concerned departments were also directed to ensure maintenance and pliability of such identified roads in case of emergency.
