Meluri district convened its first quarterly pre-monsoon preparedness meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) on May 30 at DB’s Court, Meluri.
According to a DIPR report, Deputy Commissioner (DC) and DDMA Chairman, Mhathung Tsanglao, discussed the availability of essential commodities and services in anticipation of potential calamities during the monsoon season. He urged concerned departments and stakeholders to remain vigilant in disaster preparedness and prevention efforts. Additionally, he encouraged all departments within Meluri district to fulfill their assigned responsibilities with sincerity. David Thupitor, nodal officer of DDMA Meluri, informed attendees that a data collection format would soon be issued to all relevant departments for submission to the Indian Disaster Resource Network (IDRN) portal.
The meeting was attended by the heads of various offices under Meluri district, including representatives from the National Highways & Infrastructure Development Corporation Limited (NHIDCL), project managers overseeing Packages 1, 2, and 3 (Akhegwo-Avakhung), Town Councilors, and members of the Pochury Hoho.
