Precautionary steps for COVID-19

In view of Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the Dimapur district administration has notified certain precautionary measures for urgent and necessary compliance. In a circular, DC Dimapur Anoop Khinchi notified that people should compulsorily use masks and hand sanitizers in all public places. The DC also directed all the salespersons, shopkeepers and other persons in contact with high number of people to wear masks.

All establishments have been directed to keep hand sanitizers available for theirs and for public use. In case of hoarding/selling of face masks and hand sanitizers at higher prices, DC has informed the citizens to contact EAC (Sadar) Bendang (8974796425), DMC rate control inspector Inaka (9862929908) and DC office, Dimapur (Ph:03862-248530). 

H&FW minister reviews preparedness

 A day after the Centre advised all the states to invoke the necessary provisions of the Epidemic Disease Act, 1897 to combat the coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, the state health & family welfare (H&FW) minister, Pangnyu Phom, Thursday held review meeting with regard to COVID-19 preparedness in Dimapur district. 

At the meeting, the members agreed to carry out the several activities in the district such as put up display posters and banners on COVID-19 awareness at strategic locations in the district; check the availability and price of mask and hand sanitizer in the market; check the spread of rumours and false messages on social media besides creating awareness in schools and colleges; install IEC Materials on COVID-19 at Railway Station, airport, bus terminals, check gates and taxis and create awareness using the Faith-based organisations.
