Preparations in full swing for Muivah’s visit to Somdal

UKHRUL, OCT 11 (AGENCIES)

The Tangkhul community is preparing to welcome Thuingaleng Muivah, ato kilonser of the NSCN (I-M), who is set to return to his native village, Somdal, after more than five decades, UT reports stated. Muivah is likely to visit Somdal on October 21 or 22.
In anticipation of Muivah’s visit, preparations are underway across Ukhrul district, with village authorities, youth and student organisations, churches, and civil bodies coordinating reception programmes. Community prayer services, cultural rehearsals, and public gatherings are being held to mark the occasion.
At Somdal, local residents are organising cultural performances and community feasts to commemorate what many describe as a significant homecoming for one of the most respected leaders from the region.
