Preparations underway for Unity Mini Hornbill Festival 2025 in Peren

In anticipation of the upcoming Unity Mini Hornbill Festival 2025, Deputy Commissioner Peren, Hiazu Meru convened a coordination meeting on October 16 at the DC’s office, Peren.
According to a DIPR report, the meeting brought together key tribal leaders and representatives, including the president of NZPO, Kuki Inpi, Zeliangrong Baudi Nagaland, Zeme Council Nagaland, Liangmai Council Nagaland, Rongmei Council, and Zeliangrong Mipui Organization Nagaland.
The meeting focused on preparations for the festival, which is scheduled to be held from December 4 to 6, 2025. A major highlight of the discussion was the unanimous decision to construct individual tribal Morungs at Zero Point, Beikingpuichak, as a central feature of the celebration. These traditional structures will serve as cultural pavilions to showcase the unique heritage of each participating tribe.
Detailed deliberations were held on the programme schedule and the overall execution of the festival. Emphasis was laid on celebrating the event in a grand and inclusive manner, with active participation from all tribal Hohos. The house also discussed plans to highlight traditional items and performances, ensuring that the cultural richness of each community is prominently displayed.
With preparations now underway, the district administration and tribal bodies are working collaboratively to ensure a successful and vibrant celebration.
