Preparatory meet for Banana Festival 2025 in Wokha

A preparatory meeting for the upcoming Banana Festival 2025 was convened at the Deputy Commissioner’s Conference Hall, Wokha, on August 8 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Vineet Kumar.
According to DIPR report, the meeting was attended by officials from the Agriculture department and various allied departments to deliberate on logistical arrangements, work distribution and execution strategies for the festival. Discussions centred on planning procedures, departmental coordination and suggestions to ensure the successful conduct of the event.
The Banana Festival, set to be organised for the first time in Wokha district, is part of the One District One Product (ODOP) initiative and aligns with the district’s Banana Vision Document. The festival aims to showcase Wokha’s vibrant banana cultivation, promote local farmers, enhance productivity and generate sustainable income.
Addressing the gathering, DC Vineet Kumar stressed the importance of inter-departmental collaboration and active community participation to make the festival a landmark event. He said the festival would serve as a catalyst for agricultural growth, rural entrepreneurship and livelihood improvement in the district.
