Preparatory meet in Peren for I-Day celebration

DIMAPUR

A preparatory meeting for the upcoming Independence Day celebration was held at the DC Conference Hall, Peren, on July 25 under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner, Hiazu Meru.
According to DIPR report, key agendas discussed included work distribution among departments, finalisation of parade contingents, exhibition stalls, and vehicle support for practice and celebration day. The DC welcomed all members and urged full cooperation for smooth coordination.
It was decided that a mass social work would be conducted on August 8 from the DC Office Complex to the Rest House, with all departments and stakeholders encouraged to participate. Final parade rehearsal has been scheduled for August 13, with all arrangements to be completed by August 14.
The meeting was attended by representatives from government departments, 9 Assam Rifles, 9 NAP (IR), and heads of institutions including Peren Government College, JNV Jalukie, Sainik School Punglwa, GHSS Peren, All Saints HSS, and Baptist HSS Peren.
