Fifteen-day certificate course on “social concerns and leadership” conducted by Prodigals’ Home from May 1 to 15 concluded with a short programme here on Friday.
Speaking at the function as the main speaker Trinity Theological College, Dimapur academic dean Dr. Hokato, stressed on the importance of perspective and commitment which makes a person “unshakeable”.
Citing reference of how “Jesus” started his ministry with just 12 disciples who faced mockery and persecution, Hokato urged the trainees not to lose heart in their efforts to bring positive change.
Trainees in their feedbacks were unanimous in the fact that the course was an eye opener for them whilst admitting that the knowledge they gained through books/literature was far outweighed by the practical experiences they had received during the training.
They urged continuance of the course while also suggesting similar courses for pastors and full time church workers.
Earlier, the program was chaired by Prodigals’ Home staff Tiaakum, feedbacks and expression of learning was shared by some trainees namely Thenyei Phom, Avi Kiba and Pastor Marnungba, welcome address was delivered by Prodigals’ Home director K. Ela, a song was presented by Atsou Wotsa, introduction about the course by Prodigals’ Home assistant director and course director Maong Jamir and benediction was pronounced by Chakhesang Baptist Church, Dimapur youth director Khrümvü.
This course was initiated by Prodigals’ Home in 2013 with the vision to equip potential church ministry leaders with knowledge about the diverse social issues confronting our society today and topics which are not covered in the theological studies.
