Professionals trained on GST in Kohima

Central GST Commissionerate Dimapur in collaboration with department of Industries and Commerce, government of Nagaland and R.Abraham and Associates conducted GST Workshop at Ura Hotel in Kohima on October 16.

The workshop was meant to educate professionals involved in event management, media, wedding planning and photography on how GST applies to their businesses. GST at the rate of 18% will be applicable for services provided by event managers, wedding planners or photographers, if their yearly business turnover exceeds the threshold limit of Rs 10 lakhs.

Hence a business whose annual turnover exceeded Rs 10 lakhs has to mandatorily register under GST and begin to charge GST to their customers which will then to be paid to the government every month along with filing of GST Returns.

Deputy Director Industries & Commerce, Keneirienuo Theunuo welcomed the attendees while Additional Commissioner CGST, Sashi Wapang and Chartered Accountant Rohan Abraham were the resource persons for the workshop. It was followed by an interactive Q&A session.
