A programme on “role of non-health sectors for involvement in control of vector-borne disease” was held under the chairmanship of chief secretary Pankaj Kumar with all the Adminstrative Heads of Department (AHoD)on May 16 at the conferenc hall of chief secretary.
During the programme, a powerpoint presentation on the acheivement of the programme impact, the trend of decrease in cases and deaths due to malaria in the past years was presented by joint director and SPO (NVBDCP) Dr.Kevicusa Medikhrii.
The prevelance of vectors in the district, the high endemic areas in the state, dengue fever and the preventive measures for dengues cases and the vector control avtivities carried out were also highlighted.
Chief secretary, Nagaland stressed on the importance of IEC/BCC activities and requested the state health department to make awareness programmes through AIR, local TV channels, press release, radio jingles, permanent hoardings, advocacy meetings etc.
