Indian Catholic Youth Movement- North East (ICYM-NE) in collaboration with Nagaland Catholic Youth Movement (NCYM) launched a project for “Reducing drug use among children and adolescents” on October 6 at Crescent Hotel Conference Hall, Kohima. The project under the slogan: “A drug free Northeast” was launched by DGP Rupin Sharma.
Media Cell of NCYM in a press release informed that Rupin in his speech, stressed on the importance of having a good morality and to look around and take responsibilities for the menace of drug abuse and addiction to other psychotropic substances. He said “Distorted mentality is nothing but crime”. He therefore urged everyone to come out of the fallacy in maintaining privacy for those in addiction and help them in overcoming their addiction.
Magdalene Anal, president ICYM NE, Wansuklyndog, Lady Animator, NERYC and Rev. Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima also addressed the gathering.
