Governor of Nagaland, La. Ganesan stressed the need to promote and preserve the diverse culture of the North East region during this maiden visit to North East Zone Cultural Centre (NEZCC) Dimapur on March 9.
According to a DIPR report, the Governor, who is also the chairman of NEZCC, said the centre was committed to preserve the rich culture and heritage of the region.
He also lauded centre for encouraging documentation of various forms of arts, music and dance which are disappearing.
Ganesha also congratulated all the officers and staff of NEZCC led by its director, Dr Prashana Gogoi for their tireless efforts in promoting and preserving the rich cultural heritage of the North East region.
Earlier, the welcome address was delivered by NEZCC director while
Yotsu Cultural Club (Lotha), Chakhesang Zuve Cultural Club and Tsunso Cultural Club (Yimkhiung) performed the cultural dances joint director NEZCC, D. Vashum delivered the vote of thanks.
