‘Proper infrastructure is necessary for holistic education’

Deputy director, Department of School Education (DoSE), Neizetuonuo, asserted that educators are becoming increasingly aware of the interaction between the physical space and teaching learning and that proper infrastructure was necessary for holistic education.
Speaking at the inauguration of a new section of Government High School (GHS) Chandmari School building on Tuesday , said keeping in mind the necessity of proper infrastructure, the new building block was erected under Rashtriya Madhyamik Shiksha Abhiyan (RMSA).
Neizetuonuo said it would not only provide space but also nurture teaching learning culture. 
Pointing out that teachers are the architect of a student’s whole life and hold the students future in their hand, she requested the teaching staff to be zealous in their work and to be passionate in building lives.
Neizetuonuo encouraged the teachers to be approachable so that students can freely interact and ask questions without reservation and fear.
She urged the SMDC members to visit the school to encourage and to monitor the smooth functioning of the school and work collaboratively with the school staff in identifying the need of the school and in implementing ideas and policies.
Neizetuonuo also reminded the students to make their choice wisely as they are at a crucial stage of their life. She challenged the students to either choose success and happiness in life or failure and disappointment in life. 
She also reminded the students that their teachers needs their obedience, cooperation and willingness to give their best and that hard labour, respect for elders and the fear of God are the qualities needed to become successful. 
Earlier, the programme began with a dedicatory prayer by Immanuel Baptist Church, Pastor Zakiebeituo followed by unveiling of the plaque by the chief guest.  
The programme was chaired by Kikruneinuo; headmistress GHS Chandmari, T. Atula Imsong welcomed the gathering and also gave a brief introduction of the history of GHS Chandmari and its performance in the HSLC exams since its up-gradation to high school from middle school in the year 2011. 
Special songs were presented by students of class 9 and women group; Upper Chandmari Panchayat, Santu Thapa, SMDC member and chairman, Upper Chandmari, Ahelie also delivered short speeches while Renbomo Kikon gave the vote of thanks.
The programme was attended by the headmistress, teachers, staff, students, members of SMDC and upper Chandmari panchayat, women group, colony elders, youth of upper Chandmari and well-wishers.
