PSAN opposes move to scrap NPSC exams for Cl-III posts

Public Service Aspirants of Nagaland (PSAN) on Saturday asserted that it was opposed to the government’s purported move to do away with NPSC examinations for class-III posts.
PSAN through its media cell stated that despite inclusion of the class-III posts under NPSC, the vacancies advertised in a calendar year never reached three-figure. It expressed concern that if government went ahead with the move, the number of posts through NPSC could come down to 50-40 or even lesser.
Further, PSAN pointed out that though the numbers of aspirants increased every year, the vacancies failed to increase. In such a situation, PSAN said the removal of Class-III posts from NPSC examinations would destroy the aspirations of thousands of Naga youths who were working sincerely and honestly. Despite its demand to include all “valid posts” that come under the preview of NPSC, the association said the state government chose to turn a deaf ear.
It reminded the government that once the human resources of the state were compromised, the future of the state would be doomed as those who enter the departments through backdoor “can never be a capable captain of the ship and will ultimately sink the ship.” In this regard, PSAN urged the government to seriously take up the issue on priority lest the aspirants run out of patience. Meanwhile, PSAN has also appealed to all the aspirants to own responsibility and extend cooperation to the group that was fighting for all the deserving and rightful aspirants.
