Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) has released its second phase inspection report on various government offices in Longleng district, as part of its initiative to promote transparency, accountability, and improved public service delivery.
According to a press release from PSC media cell, the inspection focused on infrastructure, staff discipline, and service effectiveness.
At the District Horticulture Office, PSC noted efficient functioning but highlighted the urgent need for a Sub-Divisional Horticulture Office in Tamlu area.
The District Sports Office was found promoting youth activities but faced staff shortage and functioning from a rented building. PSC urged timely staff recruitment and construction of permanent office.
DRDA Longleng was commended for smooth operation and strong internal coordination despite recent officer reshuffling.
Child Helpline 1098, under Social Welfare Department, was praised for discipline and commitment shown by staff.
At District Jail, PSC raised concern over inadequate toilet facilities for staff and inmates, calling for urgent action.
The District Education Office & Sr. SDEO were acknowledged for administrative progress but criticised over a Lower Division Assistant allegedly working from home without regular office attendance. For the Mid-Day Meal Scheme, PSC flagged issues including lack of vehicle and absence of a designated store in Tamlu, affecting delivery of services.
PSC appreciated departments showing dedication, and reminded all offices to maintain proper attendance registers, report staff postings accurately, and follow official working hours.
