
The two-day 63rd general session-cum-cultural dance competition of Phek Students’ Union (PSU) got underway at Phek village on the theme “cultural identity in modern context” on Wednesday.
Speaking on the topic “develop competency through education”, deputy director, animal husbandry & veterinary services (AH&VS), Dr. Ketholenuo Rhakho warned about the negligence of one’s identity during the process of cultural assimilation.
At the programme, Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) general secretary, Veduvo Rhakho shared greetings, BJP Phek district president, Niesucho Keyho shared history of the union while Dr. Ketholenuo Rhakho hoisted the PSU flag.
The inaugural session was chaired by Shehuzo Hoshi, CRC pastor Chitanieyi Venuh said the invocation,
indigenous tune was presented by Chopachi and Nukusayi while Akuve Soho delivered the welcome address.
Krove Hoshi read out general secretary report and presentation of meritorious award was led by Makrota Venuh.
The session was followed by PSU general assembly, spelling bee, debate and solo competition.
It may be mentioned that Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA, would be the cultural guest on December 30.
