Puang Lum was organised by Chang Khulei Setshang (Chang Tribal Council) under the theme “enveloping peace in oneness” , Friday at Loyem Memorial Ground ,Tuensang with parliamentary secretary for horticulture, DB&GB Kejong Chang as chief guest.
In his address, Kejong said a tribe’s identity is the values of culture and traditions and added that the significance of the theme “chishok lamshok” (treaty and alliance) was the call of the Chang Tribal Hoho to maintain peace amongst each other.
Meanwhile, the speakers of the programme called on peace saying that peace is the ultimate call to progress. They maintained that Changs as one of the major tribe should exhibit and lead to peace and progress.
The celebration was also attended by guest of honour, Deputy Commissioner (DC), Tuensang Alem Jongshi, parliamentary secretary for NBRM and F&ES Toyang Changkhong , Commandant 3rd NAP, SP Tuensang, 2-IC 23rd AR and leaders of different communities residing in Tuensang. The gathering was enthralled with different presentations by the cultural troupes.
