Pulwama attack: Candle light vigil at NU

Nagaland University Students’ Union (NUSU) Lumami (L) in collaboration with EUNU (L) held a candle light prayer vigil at old Cafeteria, NU lumami campus on February 17, to condemn the horrific Pulwama terror attack on CRPF personnel.

A press release from NUSU (L) information and publicity secretary, Suraj Kumar stated that NUSU (L) president, K. Buche Khiamniungan hoped and prayed that the government would leave no stone unturned to bring the perpetrators to justice and give a befitting reply to those behind the attack.

He further appealed to all political parties to put their political differences aside and unite in this hour of crisis. The union and all the students of NU in general, offered prayers and condolences for the bereaved families of the dead and injured.

Meanwhile, the NUSU (L) also congratulated the different state governments of the North East, civil bodies and organizations and the people for their tireless efforts against the Citizenship Amendment Bill, 2016. The union expressed hope that the Government of India would not adopt measures which will jeopardize the interests of the region. The union put forth an assurance that it would always oppose anything that could jeopardize stability in the region even in the days to come.
