Pungro villagers renovate govt school classroom

Residents of Pungro Village came together to improve learning conditions at Government Middle School (GMS) Pungro village by addressing long-standing dust issues in classrooms and carrying out major repairs.
Facing overcrowding due to rising student enrolment, the community took the initiative to refurbish a classroom with concrete flooring, while two staircases, were also constructed.
According to a report, the project saw participation from 95 volunteers and was supported by the School Management Committee, Pungro Village Council, Pungro Village Baptist Church, NVG Pungro Village, teaching staff, the Pungro Village Students’ Union, and various individuals and well-wishers.
GMS Pungro Village serves not only local children but also students from nearby areas, playing a key role as an educational hub in the region.
The school authorities expressed gratitude to all who contributed financially, provided materials, and offered their time. They said the effort has set as a strong example of community commitment to education and student welfare.
