PVSU conducts mass cleanliness drive at Pungro

DIMAPUR: Pungro Village Students’ Union (PVSU), in collaboration with Government Middle School (GMS) Pungro Village, conducted a mass cleanliness drive in and around Pungro Village on August 22.
The drive was organised to foster environmental awareness among students and the community, and to instil a sense of responsibility towards maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
Students and volunteers collected plastic bags, bottles, wrappers and other waste materials from the local ground to the Village Gate, GMS premises, circular roads, Khel roads and adjoining areas. The initiative not only helped in cleaning the surroundings but also encouraged students to develop civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.
The drive was guided and supervised by PVSU officials and teaching staff, whose collective efforts ensured its successful execution.
The Union expressed gratitude to Kinan, Head Teacher, GMS Pungro Village, for his cooperation and exemplary spirit of volunteerism towards community welfare. It further appealed to all members of the community to be more responsible in the use and disposal of plastic materials, stressing its harmful impact on the environment.
PVSU encouraged citizens to refrain from littering and to make conscious efforts to keep surroundings clean, safe and sustainable.
