Health & Family Welfare department has informed that interested private hospitals and laboratories have been permitted to install TrueNat/CNBAAT based testing machine for COVID-19. However, the department said that the labs and hospitals will have to obtain NABL accreditation and approval/registration from the ICMR.
It said NABL has now fast tracked the approval within 7 days. ICMR will also provide expedited approval, subject to NABL approval, within four weeks time from the date of approval (NABL), it said.
Further, the department has set an amount Rs. 1500 per TrueNat test for private labs/hospitals, subjected to revision from time to time.
