Peren Youth Federation (PYF) in collaboration with Keyi Ketei Maa organised its 23rd general conference-cum-youth awakening programme from December 27 to 30 at Peren village under the theme, “Let my people go”.
A press release by PYF organizing committee stated that chief guest for the occasion was
Kelei Zeliang secretary Rural Development & secretary to Nagaland chief minister.
Zeliang in his inaugural speech stressed on importance of self employment and how youth of today should develop innovative ideas to create self employment without depending on government.
Zeliang further emphasised on the need to undertake initiatives by the modern youth to understand the reality and the roots of unemployment and its causes.
He encouraged them to find effective means to cope up along with the existing social dogmas.
Stressing on the great emphasis on self employment and self reliance, the chief guest urged youths to take up various nongovernmental jobs and other effective projects for sustaining livelihood.
He highlighted on the growing importance of private sector jobs and other alternatives which in the current market was a huge source in developing one’s economy.
Altogether 14 resource persons elaborated on various topics during the four-day conference.
Earlier, president PYF, Tingba, shared about how the federation was first founded by a choir Voice of Calling Peren (VCP) from a small village called Peren Namdi. Kirangaulule, convenor of Keyi Ketei Maa delivered the introductory note and inception of Keyi Ketei Maa by a group of youths which later came under the umbrella of PYF.
