Porbami Youth Organization (PYO) celebrated its golden jubilee under the theme “Honouring our past- creating our future” at local ground, Porba village in Phek district.
Former Rajya Sabha MP, KG Kenye graced the occasion as inaugural guest and paid tribute to the pioneers and leaders for their visionary leadership.
He reminded the gathering that youth days was the best part of life where everything was possible as they have the spirit and energetic to compete with any other beings.
Kenye also exhorted the youth to maintain discipline and moral integrity and contribute to the development and progress of the society.
He also highlighted the need to rekindled the friendship relation between Porba village and Chizami village for posterity.
Further, he recalled the eminent personalities in the field of sports and especially Naga Wrestling and urged them to uphold the good social practices.
BDO Meluri, Kuhucuyi D Vadeo, guest of honour in his speech exhorted the youth choose the right path during their prime days to excel and achieve and compete with one another.
He advised the sportspersons to develop professionalism by choosing a particular sports discipline with mastery.
Earlier, welcome address was delivered by chairman, Village Council, Porba, Kuve Puro, presidential address was delivered by president PYO, Vezato Dzüdo, greetings was shared by Vemüdo D Vadeo, president, Centre Chakhesang Sports Association (CCSA).
Special number was presented by Nüvesalü Sakhamo and ‘Boka Tha Li’ Porbami Youth Organisation, oath taking was administered by Krosanyi Thülü-o, games and sports secretary and the programme was led by Vetho Vadeo and Huvesu Puro delivered concluding remarks.
Earlier, the monolith was unveiled by special guest and the souvenir was released by Kühücüyi D Vadeo.
