Science Laboratories of Queen Mary Higher Secondary School Mokokchung was inaugurated today by Rt. Rev. Jose Mukala, Bishop of Nagaland.
After inauguration, Rt. Rev. Jose Mukala, Bishop of Nagaland also attended the Freshers’ Day of the school as the Chief Guest. Speaking at the function, the Bishop said that students are here as learners having lots of capabilities and talents and that these talents should be identified and nurture them so that one becomes a responsible and respectable person in the society and a hope for the future as well. He also encouraged the students to use their talents for the good of the society and for the nation.
Emphasizing the importance of the lab that was inaugurated, the Bishop said that the lab should be used to be a reminder of God’s creation. He added, “He gave the intelligence and wisdom to find out the truth about his creation, the truth about our being. God does not want the human being to put disorder in the world but the order to bring out the best”.
The Bishop also lauded the efforts of the teachers of the school who have been sacrificing to let the students face the future. He also called upon the teachers the task of bring up the students and to let them climb the height of wisdom and to bring out excellent results in the exams.
The Freshers’ Day celebration was marked by presentation of various items including dance, songs performed by the students. The Mr. & Miss Fresher (Youth Icons 2008) this year was bagged by Mr. Imkongmeren Longchar (Cl XI Science) and Miss Nungsangchila (Cl XI Science).
