Rail project imbroglio completes 1 month

Heads of six villages have said that stalling of construction work on railway project in their area which had completed one month on Thursday would continue indefinitely since there was no positive response from the authorities concerned.
Informing this in a joint statement, Hd. GB of Pimla, Dohoi, Hd. GB of Dhansiripar, Dejiraj, VCC of Razaphe Basa, K.K. Rio, Hd. GB of Zutovi, Victo Sena, GB of Shokhuvi, Vekuto and GB of Khemnok, P. Shingyu said they had no option but to continue with the stoppage of the work indefinitely “for the insult and step-motherly treatment meted out to the beneficiaries of our six villages by giving the rate which is neither of cabinet or SLAA but the lowest rate for the most developed village land”.
“The authority remains unmoved on the issue. If the rate approved by cabinet for Chumukedima area up to 18.400km is not to be applied in our 6 villages, the rate fixed by SLAA for Kohima district must be applied,” they demanded.
